The Alta Via della Grande Guerra: Cycling through Memory

The Alta Via della Grande Guerra: Cycling through Memory

The experience in a nutshell

The Great War High Route in the Vicenza area is a journey between the sky and remembrance, where the mountains still bear the traces of the First World War.

The Experience: A Leisurely Exploration of Nature and History
A cycle tour (by bike or e-bike) along dirt tracks and ancient military mule tracks:

  • Paths of Remembrance: Cycle along scenic dirt tracks and routes carved into the rock that linked the front-line positions.
  • Mountain Bike Route: Tackle steady climbs, ideal for e-bikes too, and enjoy descents through woods and high-altitude pastures.
  • Authentic Adventure: Experience a slow and respectful way of exploring that combines the pleasure of cycling with immersion in the local natural and historical heritage.
