Treviso-Ostiglia Cycle Route: riding along the tracks of history

Your two-wheel itinerary through former railway lines, Venetian Villas and the Berici Hills

The Treviso-Ostiglia Cycle Route crosses the southern part of the province of Vicenza, with 85 of its 110 total kilometres running through the area. The route follows the former railway line, now transformed into a safe, well-signposted and almost entirely asphalted cycle path.

This long, flat route feels like a true linear woodland: a shaded corridor that winds past waterways and fields of corn, asparagus and radicchio. It is one of Veneto’s key cycle tourism routes and allows cyclists to ride largely on a dedicated track.

Railway Architecture Comes Back to Life

A distinctive feature of the route is its restored railway architecture, with a pleasant sequence of former stations and signalmen’s houses. Today, many of these buildings offer bike rental, rest areas and refreshment points, making them ideal bases for discovering the nearby Venetian Villas and MUVEC – the Veneto Museum of Bells.

The Vicenza section is strategically connected to other major cycle routes, such as the former Vicenza tramway routes and the Grimana, while also intersecting the Riviera Berica, the Bacchiglione and the Brenta. This allows you to tailor your itinerary with detours towards nature reserves or historic sites.
