Pianezze

Gracing the foothills of the Asiago Plateau, Pianezze draws its name from the Latin planities, referring to the welcoming, level space nestled between the hills. Inhabited since protohistoric times and historically tied to the domain of Marostica during the Middle Ages, the village preserves charming landmarks like the Church of San Lorenzo, the ancient Oratory of Santi Filippo e Giacomo, and the elegant 16th-century Villa Maroso.

Renowned for its abundant orchards, the area is best known for its exceptional cherry cultivation; it was right here, back in the 1920s, that the prized “Sandra” cherry variety was first discovered.
