An 80 km itinerary from Montegalda to Tonezza in the footsteps of Antonio Fogazzaro and Marquis Roi
The Fogazzaro-Roi Trail is the first of the Veneto walking routes, an 80-kilometre itinerary crossing 14 municipalities. Created to celebrate writer Antonio Fogazzaro, it combines sport and culture along roads and trails, evoking the atmospheres and landscapes described in his works.
The route reaches the Venetian Villas praised by the author and cherished by his great-grandnephew, Marquis Giuseppe Roi, from whom it takes its name. Along the stages, travellers encounter UNESCO heritage and devotional sites such as the Sanctuary of Monte Berico, moving between Bacchiglione river stretches and the cycle paths of Upper Vicenza for a unique and authentic experience.

Four Stops Between Literature and Landscapes
The trail is divided into four stages: from Montegalda to Vicenza, then on to Marano Vicentino, Velo d’Astico and finally Tonezza del Cimone. Suitable on foot or by bicycle, the route is safe and well organised thanks to detailed maps and clear dedicated signage.
The Associazione Cammini Veneti issues an official credential for collecting stamps along the way, touching iconic places such as Villa Valmarana ai Nani. The final stamp in Tonezza concludes an experience that brings together trekking and the memory of great Vicenza literature.
