Bacchiglione Cycle Route: riding along the bends of the river

Let the current guide you on an itinerary linking Vicenza and Padua

The Bacchiglione Cycle Route offers a peaceful journey through the countryside, connecting Vicenza and Padua. The section within the province of Vicenza extends for 35 kilometres and forms part of a total 95-kilometre route that continues towards Venice.

Almost the entire itinerary runs away from traffic, on cycle paths or gravel tracks along the riverbanks. The route starts from Vicenza railway station and initially follows the Riviera Berica, showcasing highlights such as Villa La Rotonda. Once outside the city, you can immerse yourself in the Venetian countryside along the Bacchiglione, encountering rural architecture and historic villas.

An Integrated Trail Along the Riverbanks

The cycle route supports integrated mobility thanks to regional trains that carry bicycles between Padua and Vicenza. By car, Montegalda is an excellent access point: park in Piazza Marconi and join the route on the left bank of the river.

As the route winds along green riverbanks, rest areas and water points are limited, so it is best to stock up before setting off. Despite its simplicity, this route remains a prime choice for exploring the area along a quiet natural corridor.
