A journey into the goldsmithing craft of the Province of Vicenza
From Lombard masterpieces to the birth of the medieval guild in 1339, Vicenza has been known for transforming precious metals into pure art. Local master goldsmiths have shaped a history of excellence that unites craftsmanship and heritage.
During the Renaissance, the fame of the Berici workshops attracted merchants from across Europe, producing sacred furnishings and jewels that became legendary. The nineteenth century marked a modern turning point, combining manual precision with the first major mechanical innovations.

Discovering Tradition
Today, the gold district, centred around Vicenza, Trissino and Camisano, stands out on the international stage. The city has become a world capital of the sector thanks to three major global trade fair events: Vicenzaoro is one of the most important international shows dedicated to goldsmithing, jewellery and watchmaking.
This extraordinary cultural heritage is expressed in Italy’s first jewellery museum, housed inside the Basilica Palladiana in the city centre. It is a precious soul to discover in person through guided sensory tours of the historic workshops in the centre.
